Our Rector, the Rev. Daniel S. Meck, comes to St. Paul’s Parish following a distinguished career of nineteen years as Head Chaplain and Director of Spiritual Life at St. Paul’s School for Boys and then the unified campus of The St. Paul’s Schools in Brooklandville, MD. In addition to planning and leading weekly chapel services across the school divisions, Fr. Dan also taught both Old and New Testament, as well as Confirmation and Faith and Morality classes to middle school boys. His love for Episcopal schools led him to serve on the board of the Mid-Atlantic Episcopal Schools Association (MAESA). Prior to his time in an academic setting, Fr. Dan served for seven years as the Assistant, then Associate Rector at St. David’s Church in the Roland Park neighborhood of Baltimore, the parish in which he was ordained to the priesthood in 2000.
Fr. Dan studied at Virginia Theological Seminary as a seminarian from the Diocese of Maryland but was raised in the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Easton, growing up at St. Mark’s Church in Perryville, MD, Cecil County. Fr. Dan’s faith journey has brought him full circle, returning to the diocese where his journey began. He and his wife, Kelly, have three grown children living in the north Baltimore area and are big fans of the local sports scene, both at the professional and collegiate level. The Mecks are excited to be part of the St. Paul’s Parish community.
Michele Miller (Staff, Parish Administrator and Assistant Treasurer) attended Old Mill High School in Millersville, MD, Johns Hopkins MA Program in Catonsville, MD, Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, MD and Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. She worked as a Medical Assistant for eight years and stopped working to become a stay-at-home mom. Michele returned to work and was employed by the general contractor Coakley Williams on the Miller Senate Building in Annapolis, MD. When this contract ended, the Department of General Services (DGS) for the State of Maryland, who oversaw the construction of the Miller Building, asked Michele to work for them for the Renovation of the James Senate Building. After the contract with DGS ended, she decided to look for part time work and applied for a position at St. Paul’s. Michele began working at St. Paul’s on December 3, 2003.
Stefan Scaggiari (Staff, Music Director) is well known nationally and internationally and for his recordings on Concord Records and his work on National Public Radio. He has served as music director at the Presbyterian Church of Chestertown, MD, and the Unity Church in Annapolis, MD. He is a resident of Centreville, MD.
Coleman Sellers, VI (Staff, Sexton) became a member of St. Paul’s Parish when he and his wife Jessica and their five children moved to Centreville in 2010. They were married at St. Paul’s in 2011. To further his understanding of ministry and be a more valuable church member, he completed two years of the EFM Program. Coleman has been a member of the St. Paul’s Choir for over ten years, has been a part of the Backpack ministry and a member of the start-up live streaming team. He has been a delegate at the Episcopal Convention representing St. Paul’s three times. Coleman and his family helped start St. Paul’s successful youth run Sunday Coffee House bringing the community into St. Paul’s to hear music and have a time of fellowship. His career as a professional photographer spans over 40 years and has provided him the opportunity to work all over the United States and Europe. He presently is concentrating on fine artwork he calls “Paintography” capturing the spirit of the amazing Eastern Shore.
